San Vicente de la Barquera

San Vicente de la Barquera is located in Cantabria, Spain, on the northern Coastline between the Natural Park of Oyambre and the National Reserve Park Picos de Europa, about 60 km to the west of Santander.

This old fishing village is located on a small island in the middle of a river with two 15th century bridges, crossed by many pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago for hundreds of years. From afar you can see the 14th century fortified church at the top of the hill, that on some evenings seems to disappear into the background with sunset.

In San Vicente de la Barquera you'll find everything you need to enjoy a pleasant holiday. There are markets with local products, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs, ATM’s, hotels, campsites, a post office - and of course fresh fish.
